Oh Hey!!

Oh hey!!
Remember me?? I'm back!

I know I know... I've been quite the bad blogger. I just felt uninspired and boring, nothing good to talk about!

However, I thought I should get myself back in the game. Not simply to write only interesting things but to keep a "journal" of my life.

This is going to be a big year with leaving my current full time job to switch to a part time position, moving to another state (fingers crossed!) and "taking the next step" in my car! So buckle your seatbelts dear readers, it's going to be quite the ride!!

I WAS NOT BUILT TO BREAK

-One can not live life without failure unless, one has lived life so carelessly that they should have not live life at all.-JK ROWLINGS

It seems to me that everything that I have accomplished in life has always been a constant struggle. There is a saying...well a couple of sayings that say" without struggle there is no progress" or another is "One can not be appreciative for what they have if it is easily given to them". Well I should be "progressed-MAXED" and the most appreciative person anyone knows!

I have struggled all my life to accomplish anything. Sometimes I wish that it was at least one thing that I did not have to struggle with and I cant think of anything. Well- wait only thing ..... my birth some else struggled for me that moment. And ever since then I was always in the struggle boat, but Ive always manage to keep struggling until I make it to the land.

At some points, I thought I will have never made it.So many times I have lost sight of my own dreams. But I didn't know my own strength! I have crashed down but Ive never manage to break. Not even in my darkest hour. But each time I find hope somewhere inside of me. I have had to always pick myself back up and hold my head HIGH. IT IS A CHALLENGE BUT I WAS NOT BUILD TO BREAK

HELLO OUT THERE

Hard to believe how long it has been since I posted on this blog! Things have been very busy for me lately.
I can’t believe summer is gone already. It seems as if I had a busy summer but, the only thing I can recall doing is taking swimming lessons, going to South Carolina and working.
I will start my horseback riding lessons again in the fall. I can’t wait until fall arrives to see the honey mustard, maroon and hunter green leaves on the ground. Most importantly, I love my fall style! I.e knee boats, turtle necks and tights …wooohoo!
WELCOME FALL…..

AGE TO PERFECTION

When a child is born, so is a grandma. As a child I memorized the months of October, November, and December. During the coldest days of winter Grandma drove from the Bronx New York to South Carolina to see my sister and I (and her daughter to).

These small moments are so vivid to me. I loved when grandma came to visit because mommy had no say so and Grandma never came empty handed or empty hearted. My sister and I got some real good cooking and we managed to sneak up a little past our bed times.

Time is something that no man or woman can reverse. Grandma is now retired and living in South Carolina. She is someone you cant hide anything from. She has honestly Aged to perfection.

However, we did manage to hide a suprise party from her. It was so well put together and she had absouletly no idea. It was such a gracious feeling seeing her suprised face, the laughter mixed with the anger (because no one told her), her beautiful smooth coco skin, and the happiness that shined from within. Grandma's sisters and children traveled from far and near to attend. We had the best hand picked guest in attendance; they created a loving and warm atomsphere for the party. They shared the happiness my family has and enjoyed themselves.

Love you grandma;'D

§§§§§Quite a ruined vacation §§§§§

I was so super excited about my upcoming trip to Kampala Uganda. I had everything ready to board the plane. I had my visa, my required shots, and my approved leave.
The only thing I was waiting on was my "Janet Jackson Big Box Braids" and my ticket purchase( which I made a personal deadline to purchase by July 11, 2010 and I failed) However, my failure in this case it was a good thing! Because....
On July 12, 2010 a Somalian Militant is claimed to be responsible for a trio of bombings that killed at least 74 people at two venues in the Ugandan capital Kampala (YUP WHERE I WAS GOING..EXACTLY) crowds were gathered to watch the World Cup.
So now my upcoming vacation is RUINED :'(
Waaaaittt a minute......
Change of plans! Now I'm headed to London. Not really sure what I'm going to do while vacaying there. Scroll the Portobello Road Market, the Tower of London, ....yep sounds exciting to me. Oh well I have to go and start planning again.
Key Note: Never let obstacles in life stop you from what you want to do. :') but im not happy about the money i lost for my visa and required shots...:'( I will make that clear.

My *Mini* Summer Oasis

I bought two of these Bath and Body Works candles when they had them on sale 2 for $20. I absolutely LOVE the smell. The Pineapple Orchid scent is just so clean and fresh smelling. I've had one of the candles sitting on my kitchen bar and for the longest time wanted to burn it but I quickly came to realize I didn't have a lighter! So on one of the MANY trips to Target, I picked up and lighter and got to burn my candle for the first time...and it is AMAZING! It is triple wicked so it doesn't take long for the top layer to become liquid (they say that candles have a memory and the first time you burn them you want to make sure you burn the first layer clean. **does this make sense???**) ANYWAYS...since it is triple wicked it only took about an hour for the top layer to burn, which is perfect for me since I lit it later at night and didn't wanna stay up for hours waiting for the layer to burn.

So long story short...I love this candle, will probably be repurchasing another 1 or 2 before they retire this scent for the summer **sadness!** and highly recommend these candles. They give me just a little bit of a summer oasis!!

I'm a Carolina PREP!!!!!

I'm southern girl trying to find my way through life one fantastic memory at a time! Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born - it's an idea, a state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, sweet tea, high school football, and crabs. It's being hospitable, being devoted to front porches, moon pies, sun drop, and each other. We don't become Southern - we're born that way.

I apologize typing has really seem foreign. I am so tardy with my blog posts.

A friend posted this on facebook this morning. Thought you would like it!

Inspiration!

Life is too short to wake up with regrets.

So love the people who treat you right.

Pray for the one's who don't

Believe everything happens for a reason

If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands

If it changes your life, let it

Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

I have been extremely peaceful lately. I believe that the journey that I took a year ago to seek my inner self is almost coming to a halt. To close it out completely it is one last thing i have to do-retail therapy-a.k.a SHOPPING!!

Where to began...

Preppy Shampoo?

Ahhhh, a feast for the preppy eyes.......

I've seen these products at Target and other places, but I've never seen this perfect BRIGHT Lilly-pink product anywhere but Bed Bath & Beyond. Love how they paired them together. Someone needs a Preppy Product Placement award!

I don't know if they're any good, but who cares? Eye Candy for the shower. ;-)

I am thinking about getting this....

I really want a puppy but i have to get over my tiny tiny unknown fear of dogs and i have to try and find the time. :')

Feeling Blue

Today I am feeling a little BLUE!
In my small 6 year career I have always made a promise to myself that I will never take work home. Work is for Work and being Home is only for Home! However,
in my profession its quite the NoRm!
I've made this promise because I don't want to start habits that will become hard to break once started. I think about when I have children...I don't want them asking mommy "Why do you go to work all day and come home and work?" (I refuse to be apart of this NORM!)
However, today I brought work home for the 1st time in my 6 year career. I am not happy about this at all!!!! I really didn't plan to....actually I had plans to go to a spa this weekend. But, it doesn't seem like that's going to happen.
KEY NOTE: As leaders we have to take care of ourselves. Sometimes we get so caught up in making sure that our employees, subordinates, bosses...etc...are taken care of but, we fail to take care of ourselves. Make sure that you take a moment each day and encourage yourself. Don't wait for someone else to. It all starts with you. Tell yourself "Good Job today" or "I am happy with my performance today"...etc...The only way I tend to manage it all is with God. Without his support I'm not sure were I would be today. (Probably a high school student) -and my time past for that era almost 9 years ago. So I thank him; not for what I have but who he has made me.
BLOGing off!

Going Green, Eating Lean is making my money MEAN

Add Image Ok! Ok! Ok!
I have been trying to follow the world on this "Saving the Earth Going Green Era".
But going green is a little expensive...And what happened to the theme... "Recycle, Reduce, Reuse and close the Loop" ....I remember that song so clearly! I miss that theme. :') But i'm going to continue trying...and save the world.!

Also, eating healthy is so darn expensive. Why not get a $1.00 double cheese burger instead of a $4.99 salad? You get more meat in the burger than the salad..lol...But realistically speaking that stuff is so unhealthy. I eat fast food very minimum. And now when I go grocery shopping I make a list with the 1) Vegetables 2) Milk 3) Meat 4)Fruits 5) Grains.
I always struggle in the meat and milk section but im learning and i will beat the constant struggle. I also struggle with sweets. I have 32 sweet "tooth".

Well enough of all this GREEN TALK.....
I think I can get used to blogging! Its like a digital diary. I have always had a dairy since elementary school. The weird part is that I still have it-I misspelled so many things and made up so many words. lol
Well im BLOGing off until next time!

LOOOOOOOOOO00000000000000000000000ONG

Loong hours
looong meetings
loooong days
&
short patience!

Dont you hate it when you sit in long meeting and repeat the same things over and over again? That's the kind of day I had today. Sometimes we have to make sure that we take care of ourselves and not let a job steal away "the inner you". With that being said i need to really go to the spa this weekend! I need a relaxing oasis getaway!

ORIGINAL BLOG

OkKkKk..... Here goes to my first blog entry: I have been debating on rather I should do a blog for quite some time now. I couldn't decide on what topics would be discussed, or what images I should post, or if I should blog daily or weekly ..etc..
Because of my
eclectic-ness, I enjoy doing a little of everything and talking about anything!
So I was like hmmmm..... what can I say or do that would make my blog different from the other
1,908,000 blogs around the world? Then I had an epiphany. I decided to just be myself!!!! I know that God did not create anyone exactly like me ....so hop aboard as I began my blogging life......:")
